The mother of the young woman who is embroiled in the latest Anthony Weiner “sexting” scandal is speaking out.
Laura Leathers, mother of 23-year-old Sydney Leathers, tells the New York Daily News from her home in Allendale, Ill. that no one should be voting for Weiner as the next mayor of New York City.
“I have nothing to say except God help New York if he gets to be mayor. You can print that,” Laura Leathers told the Daily News.
Weiner began his online relationship with Sydney Leathers last summer, more than a year after he resigned from Congress. According to the Daily News, the 23-year-old reached out to Weiner through Facebook after he resigned in 2011.
